34. As regards (5) mod (4), we consider the facilitiss
for the supply of the materials mentioned are much more

We bave recently ressived through your Department
copy of a letter from the Director of Public Works to the
Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong, dated 26th August, 1922,
forwarding a report by XF. J.Dunean, H.Inst.C... with
accompanying plans and documente giving particulars of the
survey work recently undertaken at our request. We have
also received four bexa" containing samples of borings.
The information received is not quite complete but the
documenta to hand include the general survey plan with
soundings, current observations and a series of areas
sections on which are marked lines showing approximate
levels of hard material as derived from the berings and
also from prickings. We would like here te express our
appreciation of the oare which appears to have been taken
in collecting the information and of the very clear MEANET
in which it has been recorded.
